Jon has been involved in pageants since the early 1980 s with the Miss Louisiana Organization. He served as a Field Director in Central Louisiana and as a board member. He also produced the Miss Bossier Parish/City Pageant and the Miss Greater Baton Rouge Pageant with his late mother, Marion.
The Miss Teen Louisiana-America Pageant was envisioned by a group of
dedicated pageant volunteers in 1992 and held its first pageant in
Pineville in 1993. Soon after, the state Princess pageant was added to
the teen program. Jon has judged state and local preliminary pageants
during his near 40 years of pageantry. His main focus has been community
service and Interview. In Baton Rouge and in the Shreveport/Bossier
area, he held many special events for local titleholders: visiting
Magnolia Woods Elementary School and Woman s Hospital in Baton Rouge and
Caddo Heights Elementary School and Bossier Parish Council on Aging in
Bossier City. He has always encouraged local titleholders to get
involved in their own hometowns to advance their platforms. Jon is
excited to join the Volunteer Louisiana program with many longtime
pageant friends.
He is a retired flight attendant and spends his time traveling to his
favorite destinations: the Sapphire Valley of western North Carolina;
Vail, Colorado; and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
